Yay it’s May!
Or, a shorty newsy, linksy post

May is probably my favorite month of the year, not only because I am the beneficiary of not one, not two but three gift giving occasions but also because it always seem to be such a busy, alive time of the year. School is winding down and summer seems to be wide open with promise and potential; there is just so much energy in the air and it seems the perfect time to make big plans.
So, since I’m crazy busy with freelancing and all of the boys it made perfect sense to me that what I really should do is join the 2010 WordCount Blogathon. For those that don’t know:
The Blogathon is an annual event that unites freelance writers from all over in a common commitment to learn more about blogging by posting to their own blogs every day during the month of May.
It’s so easy to let your own writing and interests come last when you’re busy writing for others so this came at the right time to remind me that no matter what, my most important client is me. (If you write for others, be sure to check out the link – it’s a fabulous guest post for Copyblogger by my partner Sean Platt)
This is also the perfect opportunity for me to experiment a bit and get a feel for what my readers respond to. I don’t want to bore folks with updates but I’ll probably do a recap post towards the end to share my thoughts and observations.
The full list of this year’s participants is available on the WordCount blog. I’m not sure if late applicants are accepted, but there’s no reason you couldn’t play along unofficially if you’d like to try it for yourself.
I’ve also meant to spread the word about Tribal Blogs a networking group for bloggers who are serious about improving their craft and helping promote and support each other. Tribal Blogs is brought to you by the wonderful Jen of Redhead Ranting; there are two levels of membership: completely free or for $6 a month you can become a premium member and get added benefits.
I am also pleased to be part of the Mona Lisa Million by my friend Dave. He’s a really fun and caring fellow as evidenced by posts like Bloggers Are a Lazy and Apathetic Bunch.
We’ve been super busy at Ghostwriter Dad working on projects for several different clients and a new campaign for our potty training product. I’ve posted a few articles for HealthCompareGuide.com including one on how to Wake Up Refreshed and How To Deal With Spendthrift Friends.
May is looking to be a busy, exciting month around these parts. Let me know what you have planned in the comments!
PS Amazon told me to let you know that they have a ton of May Magazine Subscription Specials and I said okay because 1. they give me money and 2. because I’ve had excellent experiences ordering subscriptions from Amazon. And you know Mother’s Day is coming up…
