Ghostwriting, Content Marketing and Dollars and Sense

Or, why I haven’t been blogging as much

I’ve plunged back into the world of working and it’s been a bit of an adventure, trying to coordinate deadlines, kids and sleep. This poor blog has been neglected! I do feel like I’m getting a better handle on things and once this adjustment period is over, I’ll back back to updating a few times a week.

My friend Sean Platt, aka Writer Dad offered me the opportunity to join him at Ghostwriter Dad and I eagerly accepted. I am serving as a lead writer and content marketing specialist, which basically means that I not only provide professional ghostwriting services but also work with Sean to design article marketing campaigns for our clients and brief them on current best practices.

We don’t just work for clients, Sean and I are working with his wife, Cindy Platt and our friend David Wright, aka Blogger Dad on a series of future information products and websites. I’ve signed on as content manager for Potty Training Power and will be working with the Platts and David to build this business.

I am also writing for Health Compare Guide, my usual section will be Dollars and Sense however I’ve also written for the other sections and will fill in as needed.

I’ve been amazingly busy but I’ve also learned so much just jumping in and seeing if I’d sink or swim. It’s been awesome to be able to apply the knowledge I’ve gained in my years of blogging and being active in social media/community management and to be able to use it to help people expand their online presence in a strategic way.

Juggling all of these new responsibilities with being a wife and mother and blogger is a challenge but I’m confident that I will find my balance.

I just knew it was you. All that secrecy over on GWD and all along I knew it was you! My intuition is just spooky!

Well, actually, that’s not true. You must be a good ghostwriter because I had no idea it was you. I just wanted write “spooky”, because of the ghostwriting thing, you know? Tell me you know! Oh forget it! :(

Congrats on the new role :D

Who else could it have been but me? Does Sean know that many women with five kids that blog?

Dave (MisterGoodGuy) April 21, 2010 at 12:01 pm

I’m not sure Sean knows ANY women other than his wife. I don’t think Cindy lets him out of her sight. He has too much of a twinkle in his eye and the women just can’t resist. Maybe. Or I could just be talking rubbish. :D

I am immune to eye twinkles, I am.

Honestly, I think if there were any woman that all women could trust their husbands with it would be me. I am far too busy for any sort of shenanigans and if they run off with me? Ha! It’s like their crime is their punishment.

Also, am obliged by my marital contract to say my husband is hot.

My twinkle is illegal in 31 states.

You know, I don’t think they have any Twinkle in Europe.

They just don’t build ‘em perky over there.

I don’t know how on earth you do it all. I really don’t. I have zero kids and can barely keep up with blogging and networking. You are my hero.

Hi Tracy,

SO….that’s what you’ve been up to. It sounds like a great fit, but like you said, it will also entail finding balance.

But, knowing you, it will be easy peasy.

I wish you all the best on your new adventure.

You will! Congrats on the work arrangement. And I don’t know if it ever feels balanced, but you eventually get to a point where you realize that most of what’s on your to do list can wait til tomorrow.

Hi Alisa! Thanks for the words of encouragement from one who has been there. It’s tough, but a lot of fun, too.
