      It was a really awesome playground, I’ll have to post more photos on facebook (we try not to post too many photos of the kid’s faces on the blog so that they can deny that I am their mother).

      We’d sat down to have a snack and I was putting away the leftover food and next thing I know all five of them are on top of this cave structure!

    Shoes filled with sand, oh how I laughed when I saw that picture – so glad it’s not just me although here in the UK it’s usually filled with mud!

      The day before this we were running late because I had to wait for those very sneakers to tumble dry after he’d completely soaked them with mud and his other pair of shoes were too tight.

      Thank goodness in summer he can wear Croc-style sandals outdoors!

    I am simply aghast. How do you do it? I have no kids, a non-full-time freelancing job, and I only update my blog twice a week. HOW?

      One, I am awesome.

      Two, I don’t have chronic pain.

      Three, you know that small one you sometimes see on my facebook? He did not sleep his entire first year on the planet and not much of the second. We are now in his third year and finally he is sleeping, sometimes for three or four hours at a stretch! When you’re used to going on no sleep, a little sleep seems like a ton.

    Fantastic! Also? This is the second time in as many days I’ve seen/heard you mention 5 kids. Are you serious? Why did I think you had three (which is plenty already). So, if in fact you have five children, I would just like to say: WTF?????? Are you crazy woman? FIVE KIDS???? ACK!!!!!! How the hell do you do it?

    Is it the Irish Catholic thing?

      Hmmm, you know it could be that the oldest two are in school full days and are older/probably don’t like for me to post every thing they say on FB so you see many more photos of the 3 small ones and hear about me doing more things with them.

      I am neither Irish or Catholic! Go figure! And my husband’s sisters who are Irish and Catholic and living in Ireland have 0.5 kids between the four of them.

      I know, it makes no sense.

    First post here. Saw your latest post from junk drawer. Looks like you have a great time with your boys. I’m one of four boys in my family and I can tell you my mom had a blast. At least it seemed like a blast when we were children. She was so excited she would grab her head and rip her hair out!

    I can’t imagine having 1 boy – I have 1 mostly neat, well behaved girl and I still feel overwhelmed. Well, I think I’m overwhelmed by the long-haired white cat that likes to eat garlic but somehow I feel better blaming it on the kid.

    I’m not sure if what I just wrote makes sense – I have some sort of pollen issue going on in my throat and just woke up from a not very restful nap …

      Kim, I’m in the same boat today. I’m loving this Spring weather but all of the pollen makes me miserable.

      That’s why I have words of wisdom regarding overwhelmedness that I just can’t share with you because they don’t seem to be English words.
