Wow, you took care of four kids, a dog and a husband with no gas or working stove for many days! (I just quoted you there). Seriously, I’m already impressed that you have quadruple as many kids as I do and manage to stay roughly as sane. If I tripled my stress quotient, I’m pretty sure I’d need to go live in a place called Serenity Gardens for a few months. And if my oven broke, I’d consider that a sign from God that we should be ignoring our budget and just eating out all the time. And if the water broke, I’d consider it another sign that we should all be staying at the Four Seasons and ordering room service. (Okay, I might exaggerate a wee little, but I do find that you cooked on a hot plate quite impressed!!!)

You hung tough….well, not really a true pioneer woman since you had a drain in your bathtub and didn’t have to haul the ‘dirty’ out by pail…I’m just saying…you did good! Count your found change and go for a spa day, you deserve it!

Consider yourself coddled. Criminy, I’d have gone on a 4 state shooting rampage way before the end of this saga.

I think the next step is for some kind of Shaman to come in and burn sage to bless the house.

Not only do you get my admiration for dealing with it (been there done that – and with only one child it was something close to hell) but extra kudos for doing it all without booze, xanax or resorting to screaming, throwing things and bursting into girly tears until relatives/friends took the kids and/or offered showers and home made casseroles and pies.

Holy cow! I’m with Wilma. You’ve had enough to last a good long while. Better to get it all over with now. I only once had to go without hot water. Coldest and FASTEST shower I ever took! Nothing like what you’ve gone through. Sending good vibes your way. You should ask everyone you run into for coddling. Except strangers on the street. That might get you arrested.

Good lord, that is a lot of stuff to deal with. Does that mean you have had all the bad stuff in one go that others have to deal with over a decade?
I sure hope that this pile of misfortune will keep the rest of the decade problem free.
However that is of little consolation right now, so I do agree you need coddling, so lots of coddling from me.
I hate not having hot water, so an extra coddle for that one.
