As someone who broke down and got a dog six months ago, I’m SO excited for you! She sounds like the perfect mix of personalities. Enjoy her (and all the girly collars, too, of course).

Bwahahaha. That’s the funniest thing I’ve read this week (way to go David!). Having lived in Seoul for a while, the added meaning makes it all the funnier!

Princes Leia is a perfect name, but keep her out of the Death Star trash compactor.

BTW. Dog ain’t too bad–a bit stringy–but not bad with enough spice on it.

One, I do not make kitten milkshakes, I am lactose intolerant.

Two, if anyone should have been contacted it should have been me, because I am the Korean-esque person who decided that it was fine to share the jokes without risking the reputation of an entire people.

As I put in the post above, BD didn’t even think about the Korean/eating dogs connection until I wrote him back and told him what my husband said. It was funny, because it did seem like I picked up the dog with my groceries that day (although to be sure there was an application and screening process and we weren’t able to bring home the dog until we were approved).

For the record, I made my joke not knowing of Tracy’s heritage. It was simply a joke about a dog to counter the syrupy sweet email she sent me. I am writing this because someone just contacted me saying I was making a stereotypical joke and it was not meant as anything close to that. If you look through my past stuff, you’ll see that race is not an area I’ve ever joked about. It’s just not my style.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. She is beautiful isn’t she? And she’s already learned to hide under my desk when she wants to be away from the O’Boys. And the younger O’Boys have already learned the hard way that dog food is not as delicious as you might think. My husband scoffed when I bought the pricey organic doggie treats – did he not realize that our children would also be eating them?

J.D. technically they aren’t selling dogs, but the rescue groups do come in with the dogs and cats they have up for adoption.

Times she came to us already spayed and up to date on vaccines, frontline, heartworm, etc. All we have to do is love her. When they found her, she was with her two puppies who have also been adopted into families.

I suggest you get her spayed, especially considering what must be in the water at your house . . . unless you want a house full of puppies to go along with your house full of boys!
