My Husband and I are sitting here rolling from your blog!!! Hilarious!! He brought me home one from the market today and after I read the label I jumped on the internet and here I am! Strange that there isn’t a whole lot of info about these slimcados like, when are they ripe? Mine is very green and hard……..I wonder if it’s better to wait or just jump in now…..Well thank you for the laughs!!

Excellent point. If we were not comparing it to the acclaimed Haas, we’d all like it a lot more. It’s not a l0w-fat-avocado, it’s a different fruit from an entirely different region of the world. We tried ours for the first time tonight. What a waste! We bought it because we’ve seen some that big before and they were good but this one, yuk! It should be named something else, like Sri Lankan Water Fruit so as not to confuse us fast paced folk that don’t take the time to read the fine print before leaving the store. After a hard days work in the yard we were ready to sit down to a nice bowl of guacamole, but when we whipped up this thing, we couldn’t put enough spices in it to change the flavor. Maybe a quart of salsa would make it somewhat palatable, but it would waste a perfectly good salsa. it had absolutely no flavor. How do they get all that wter inside it, we thought they injected it with a hypodermic needle. Wierd and absolutely not worth the money.

Hilarious! I tried it today in guacamole. It was really blah and a little gross. Why did I waste my time on this fruit formerly known as avocado?
Maybe I just didn’t get a good one, but I don’t think I’ll try another anyways.

I tried the SlimCado just to see what a different variety of avocado tasted liked. Simply put, the SlimCado should not even be allowed to be called an Avocado. Like you said, it’s like having a watered-down Coke.

I was so very excited when I saw the SlimCado parked nexted to my good friends the original avocado. I was suckered in. I saw the big sticker “30% less fat” and they had me at hello. I envisioned my twice daily salads being taken to a whole new level of excitement and anticipation. I was sorely let down. Upon first slice the water was running out of my SlimCado. It was a slippery little fellar. I wanted to love it. I yearned to love it. I could see my point values per salad decreasing before my very eyes. But damn. I hated it. It was awful. I was slippy, slappy, bland and blah. A waste of two points. Never again. Never again will you rob me of my points. I will give your predecesor, the original avocado, the full four points it deserves. Move over honey, my original avocado is waiting for me.
