Or, I know I already posted once today but these were truly pathetic and I need a hug
I got the idea from this impossibly beautiful post by Luxirare.
Only you know, I am sort of the anti-Luxirare. That’s why my misshapen little pies are in a rice measuring cup instead of some sort of specialty lucite lollypie holder. I also am not really one to go back and consult the recipe while cooking so I just sort of did what I remembered. And yeah, there was ooze and there were ominous cracks but I just ate one and it was delicious and I’m not dead yet, so while part of me weeps for a world where there are labels for individual lollpie wrappers and little jars for filling the other part of me is like “urrp, that were good, can I have another?”
PS yes I know all my food pictures have the same background. That’s because my kitchen is a cave so I just take everything out to my front porch. I’m waiting for somebody to ask me what on earth I am doing. Thank goodness for no HOA!

These pies, while they look easy to make, are not so easy. I try tomake it look as easy as possible but to be honest I was in my kitchen for 2 days trial and error, in fact my first attempts came out the same as yours. I went back and figured out how to seal the pie really tight so that nothing would leak. The filling also has to be somewhat thick. I made about 3-4 inferior pies because I had one come out that looked half way decent.
From what I can see here though, they look mighty delicious and that is really..all that matters in the end. Judge the contents not the cover!

OMG this is amazing! I went to Luxirare’s site and saw what she did to potatoes. OMG it was amazing. I want to try this!!!
They actually look delicious. (I didn’t mean that to sound as incredulous as it does.) Are they wooden lollipop sticks?
Lately, I am into the throw it all in a pot and see what you get kind of cooking. So, those look quite impressive too me. I be they were delicious too!
Your lollipies look scrumptuous…if you want perfection..go to a bakery! I prefer something that looks like it was made with love. Big hugs for you!!!
Your Lollipies look good tracy.
You know when i was a little girl and did things in my mums kitchen..i often really squashed everything up…and served it…my mum would constantly tell me to do it this way and that way…but when i would serve the food to my dad….he would just look at my sad little face and say…”it doesnt matter what shape it is, its all gonna get mixed up in my tummy..”
So since then..i have learned…it should taste good…doesnt matter how it looks…
So bring on the lollipies girl….even if they look like flying saucers…they all taste awsome on the inside;)

Oh, man, those are so beautiful! It’s the oozes and cracks and imperfections that MAKE a lollypie so luscious. (I have to admit: this is the first I’ve heard of lollypies, and now I want one with every meal.) Oh, and thanks for introducing me to another food porn site. Luxirare’s photos are divine.

You know, I tweeted you back on this, and then my brain farted and I thought I’d commented as well (which is what I intended to do in the first place!). Oops!
I haven’t even peeked at the Luxirare’s post because these look dang good just like they are. Why should I go there when these delectable treats are right here?
See, when I look at those crispy, drippy treats, I wanna eat one . I’m not into food porn but, I’m thinking that makes these count.

I don’t know about them being the saddest looking. I actually think they look great oozing out yummy fruit filling. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this too. Looking forward to trying out my hand at lollypie creation soon.

Thanks for the compliments. They were tasty! I am going to practice more to make some really stunning ones for small Christmas gifts this year.
Luxirare, thanks for stopping by with the pointers! I agree with everyone else that your recipes and photos are amazing.
