Or, why on earth didn’t I use my iPhone to jot it down so that this post would have an awesome title? Because I surely did forget everything but the fact that it was perfect.
Oh boy this is an exciting time in my life. Like I said last week, I’ve got a ton of things to do to get my on and offline life in order and I’m afraid that means less time to devote to this blog. Then I got sick and put everything even further behind. Truth be told, I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed but have found my focus again by remembering things Tim taught me in coaching and various good advice from books and blogs and just plain taking a breather to let myself settle down some before picking things back up.
Speaking of Tim, this guest post by Ali Hale called “Who’s Inside Your Head” not only offered spot on advice but let me know I was not alone in having an imaginary Tim.
My brother started a blog called Forgive My American. He’s a lot like me only younger, male, much taller, has eaten several more pupa than I and not very culturally sensitive. I am going to smack him upside the head for posting “Ching Chang Chong” oh I surely will. Anyway, check it out, I did really enjoy his post about the door opening zone today.
Speaking of, sort of, I post all sorts of links I enjoy in OFFS. You should post links you enjoy there, too. Just saying is all.
I got my copy of The Essential Motivation Handbook by Leo Babauta and Eric Hamm today. I am really looking forward to finishing it later today, especially the chapter titled: How to Doggedly Pursue Your Dreams in the Face of Naysayers.
See, last week before I got sick I was so going to write a post about the stealth haters and the pokey proddy instigators and the huffy puffies that try to bring me down. It seemed a lot more urgent last week, but I tend to feel like the world is completely and totally against me when I’m getting sick. Another sign of me getting sick? I forget that I always feel that way right before my fever spikes and start feeling like I’m having a nervous breakdown.
Funny story, I commented on this post at Tremendous News called 5 Reasons You’ll Get Hate Comments (and what to do about it) which I think precipitated the whole urgent need to tell people how I’ve been done wrong/nervous breakdown/spiking fever thing. NOT that I think Tremendous News made me sick, so don’t even think about that and for God’s sake please don’t harass him on twitter or facebook or anything. Anyway, I made that comment and all sorts of people clicked through to this blog (like seriously 4 or even 5. in one day!) probably trying to see what kind of stealth hate I was getting.
So key to blog traffic: make people think you’re hate-worthy.
Back to the the Essential Motivation Handbook, I can’t wait to finish reading it so I can review it so I can get rich dropping my affiliate link all over town. (Note: that was an affiliate link)
Hey, before we get all motivated and focused on our own junk, let me ask you this: Go to this page about black people being photoshopped, look at the pictures. Note the site’s name pasted on the photos – even on photos that have already had other site’s urls pasted on. Now, is it just me or does it seem odd to put your name on photos that aren’t yours? I mean, isn’t the point of putting your url or name on photos to say “Hey, this is mine! I did this! Me!” not “Hey, we swiped this and now it is ours!”
Because in that case, I’m going to put my name all over my friend Tracey’s brilliant photographs. She took the one that’s on the top of this post and graciously said I could post it in my blog. Take a moment today and check out her photos, you’ll be glad you did. The awesome thing is, she’s still new at this and is already this good. Can you imagine how amazing her photos will be in another year?
And with that I’d better get going. I’m moving a lot of the itty bitty blogs that are on this server to my new hosting plan at Host Gator. I’ve been thrilled with them so far, so much that I opened an affiliate account because I’m sure I can sell them. Don’t get me wrong, I love Liquid Web, too and have a referral account there, too, but I have this superstition about hosting all of my sites in one location. Sort of like how the royal family doesn’t ride the same Greyhound at the same time.
Hope all is well with everyone and my apologies for being missing on the whole social media/commenting/reading circuit.
PS I really love saying the name “Leonardo Babauta”. Is that not an awesome name?

I like that. I will use that to comfort myself the next time a commenter calls me a name or tells me to get my head out of my ass or some other hateful thing. I’m hate worthy. Woot.
Alisa Bowman´s last blog post..What do you do on date night?
Sorry you were feeling lousy, Tracy…and glad to have you back!
Well, I’m not hateworthy, but my latest post would have launched me into that category if I had enough readers, I’m thinking.
BTW, the title of this post is brilliant, imho.
Mr. Nuggets´s last blog post..Time to Come Out of the Closet
I like the idea that being hate-worthy is good for traffic.
Vered – MomGrind´s last blog post..Happily Ever After
I can’t get over how that site put their name all over those photos. I seriously doubt that they had the copyright owners permissions to do so. Strange.
Thanks for the link. It’s making me feel a little queasy.
travit´s last blog post..A little white lie with red and blue sprinkles
Right at the moment I publish a post, I often worry that people will hate me. They’ll hate me for being too Christian or too Liberal or for the fact that the word “divorce” is one of my biggest tags, or because my posts are too long and make you think about things you’d rather avoid.
Anyway, you’ve given me good reason to not worry about being hated any more! (But now maybe I’ll worry I’m not hated enough, and that’s why my blog isn’t more popular. Sigh.)
Kristin T. (@kt_writes)´s last blog post..Life lessons from Pitchfork
Hostgator’s great! I use them myself. Their customer support is top-notch.
This is my first time on the blog and I like the style of it. I’m glad you came back just in time for me to read your writing. Good luck reading Leo and Eric’s new book.
John´s last blog post..How to Kiss Your Boredom Goodbye
I love the Gator. I’ve had zero problems with them.
I hereby promise to work on being more hate-worthy. Everyone should have goals.

Tumblemoose´s last blog post..Is content theft a bad thing?
Well I am glad to see back and posting even if it is less frequently. It’s easy to hate and hard to understand remember that.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who keeps the iphone by his bedside to take notes from dreams.
Tracy, you are a NUT. But a wonderful nut that makes me laugh. Thanks
My Mom was terrified of flying and wouldn’t put all of us on the same flight. It was very annoying. And the last time she did that she put me with my baby brother. I was like if they all die how in the world will I take care of this one. I think I was 18 and he was like 9 months.
Its amazing how we can dream of solutions in our sleep. When I was songwriting I would occassionally dream of riffs and tunes that I knew would be a great hit, the problem was I would forget them before I could them.
It is indeed a very good idea to sleep with a notebook next to your bed so you can immediately write down any inspiring ideas you get in your dreams
