@Mike, I'm glad to hear you say that because often online you hear musical professionals become quite indignant and natter on and on about how pained they are to hear somebody sing off tune or play out of rhythm. Oh! What an insult to their artist's soul!

I remember my mom and dad used to tease me a lot about my lack of music and dance skills - and then they wondered why I didn't have any confidence!

I feel the same way about my house. I've lived in so many grotty places that it doesn't bother me one little bit that my house is on the less posh side of the street and only has 1.5 baths and a pink & faux brick linoleum kitchen.

@Online Colleges. Ha! No, but it does have character, don't you think. I didn't think to look what county it was registered with, I'm wondering if maybe it's an agricultural vehicle of some sort and has an exemption? The truckbed had some lawn equipment type stuff there, so perhaps it was just making a delivery from a farm.

Great songs! I love the Velvet Underground! And thank goodness for inspections and laws about what is ok with cars and what isn't. A wooden bumper being something that wouldn't be allowed. That isn't your car, is it?

As a trained classical music professional, I often think that the joy of music is ripped right out of the hearts of children (and adults, for that matter) by always feeling like everything has to be "correct" for the music to be valid, for it to touch our hearts and minds. Kudos to you, Tracy, for your music lessons, for awakening in your children the joy of music!

Seeing that truck reminded me of all the oddball junkers I've owned, the Fiats with multi-colored body panels and the Studebakers with suicide doors. Now that I've got a car with nothing bashed up and all one paint color, I'm as proud of it at 15 years as I would be of a new one.

@Vered, I am torn between thinking how great that they are repairing instead of ditching it for a new vehicle and wondering how toxic the fumes must be.

@Patricia, heh the little boys are just turned 3 and 1.5 so our "music lessons" are pretty much me putting on the videos to those songs and us singing and dancing along. We are really, really super good!

However, we live in a city neighborhood and the houses are very close together, so the neighbors might not agree. I am used to being the only people home during the weekdays.

We had one of those electric pianos, too! So handy and never needs tuning!

@Tumblemoose Ha! That's the great thing about living in Midtown Memphis, if I'm ever stuck for a post, I can just walk outside for a block or two and come across something to take a picture of!

@Sire hey! I think you're probably right. I'm not what you'd call "handy". Now that I think of it, I just you wouldn't just hand a bumper from the hood!

One day I have to visit Australia. I wonder if I could talk the Australian goverment into sponsoring me taking a tour, if I promised to blog it? I will ask them.

@Barbara I know! You know what would be awesome? A BWaB community picnic with a karaoke machine filled with good country and western songs. Many people will disagree with me, but I think C&W is the best for karaoke, followed by power ballads and then pop.
