I am totally with you on Career Renegade. Brilliant read. I couldn't put it down and it got me all fired up about working for myself. I keep going round all my friends trying to think up ideas for them to start a business of their own and get off that hamster wheel that is life in an office! Tracy, I’ve been mentally composing a response to your critique of my headline-writing abilities. I was going to start with my two favorite words in the word (“House style”), move on to how “The” is clearly on the magazine’s cover, take a detour to where I’m surprised that “My Broken Heart” isn’t an emo band — which I still wouldn’t capitalize because I hate emo bands — and probably end up in a little town I like to call “Who the heck do you think you are?”

I’ve decided to skip all that and pose to you a question: What would you do if you have to write about longtime English band The The?

By the way, about the house style thing: If someone ever calls you out for a grammar or spelling mistake, feel free to tell them that’s just your policy (“House style dictates that “pizza” only has one “z.”)

It’s a lot more fun that just changing the mistake and then telling that they’re crazy, it’s clearly correct, please go check again and stop cutting your pills in half.

Travit, it really is a great book. I think a lot of us are feeling trapped and dissatisfied and this book is the kick in the pants to do something about it.

Hi Tawny! Thanks! I’m starting to feel better, but this is one persistent cold. I actually feel physically weak. Bleh.
