Yes, this blog has been a bit Germanic of late, that’s what happens when you get a suitcase full of goodies from Germany.
Can you tell this box was smushed between 4 bricks of German coffee and assorted touristy t-shirts?
Leibniz Löwensnacks are a biscuit style cookie topped with a chocolate bar containing a milk filling, made by Bahlsen. These are meant for children, I think, thus the milk filling which I believe is considered a nutritional powerhouse of a food in Germany.
I like candy bars that are called snacks, which means they can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
Isn’t the lion too darling? The only thing better would be a little hippo!
See, milk filling! It tastes a lot like vanilla flavored “creme” only not so gritty and waxy. Kind of a higher class Oreo filling, if you will. Maybe if you took the texture of a creamy white chocolate and the taste of Oreo filling and took down the sweetness two notches, that would be “milk filling”
Mmmm, tasty! Readers, I don’t mind telling you I ate the entire box of five, minus one square I reluctantly gave to my 2.5 year old when he threatened to tell Grandma. Bahlsen Milk Chocolate Leibniz are an acceptable substitute and readily available in the States only they have no milk filling and thus are nutritionally void.
