You know, back in 1990s they were pretty cool and then I just sort of stopped liking them because eventually I stop liking everything. But now it’s 2008 and I think enough time has passed so e-cards can be considered retro and I can start liking them again, just like doing The Running Man. Just in time, too, because I’ve discovered someecards – when you care enough to hit send.
I found someecards after I signed up for Twitter. I do not remotely even understand Twitter and it’s in danger of me preemptively declaring myself “so over it” just like I did when I couldn’t figure out MySpace. As far as I can see, I am supposed to write what I am doing right now in a little box and then everyone on my list can see. That part is good, that part I get, I can see how it is a useful service. The only drawback is it seems that other people can update as well and I’m supposed to be interested. Good thing I only have two friends!
So, I guess I’ll do some poking around and see if Twitter can be used to send little sparkly pictures, and if not, I will give it a whirl. I think a really useful service would be if I made a giant database of people you should never add to your Twitter list, that could be how I make my internet millions.
