My early career goals in no particular order: 1) Rock Star 2) Artist of some sort 3) Actress 4) Forensic Artist(though I didn’t know the name of it back then). 1 is fulfilled through karaoke, 3 is contented with community theater, 4 is on the back burner after hitting a lot of dead ends (no pun intended).
Item 2 has actually been achieved. I went to art school, received my BFA in Illustration in ‘99 and have taken an assortment of art jobs since. The latest is the full time aesthetic porcelain technician at a dental school and the maxillo-facial prosthetic artist at a cancer hospital. In other words, I help the students make their crowns pretty and I make ears and noses for those that have had theirs cut off. I started grad school part time last fall to get my Pre K-12 teaching license in the Visual Arts, which I should receive in the spring of ‘10.
I live in Columbus with my husband, 2.75 year old daughter, Zoe, and two cats. I love spending time with Zoe and also enjoy painting watercolors in cemeteries, reading about forensics, making marionettes, watching movies, and doing portraits. (SHAMELESS PLUG: Contact me if you are interesting in a portrait. I charge depending on size and quality of reference photo).
These examples are of my recent work, except for the one of my friend’s baby, nicknamed Frodo, which is just one of my favorites that I’ve done. The wolf is a logo that I did for my friend’s theater company and Ray was a commissioned piece. I love to do all kinds of art and can’t wait to move in order to have a studio again. Having nowhere to work is very frustrating.

Great profile of a very talented and extremely hilarious person. I love your work, Bebe! I like that you moonlight as a rock star via karaoke. I’m going to try that.
You are very talented! I may take you up on one of those portraits someday.
