See my title? I’ve already learned to talk like a marketeer! I’m a natural at this.
The problem is, I have a message board called I Hate My Message Board. How do you attract posters to a message board with a name like that? You probably could get tons of posters, the problem is, all they’d want to talk about is how much and why their message board sucks. Which would be fine, I’m always up for a good discussion of how much things suck and why, only I think the 400+ members of my board wouldn’t care for wild eyed strangers popping up starting threads like “Televisionwithoutpity are a bunch of fascists!”
I could change the name, but I’ve grown very fond of it and have no good ideas for a new one. I’m not going to ask anyone for suggestions for fear that they’ll come up with something that everyone else loves and I hate and I will feel pressured to change it to “Tim Tams, Tea and Talky Talk”.
Speaking of, Tim Tams have become something of an obsession on the boards. I think there were at least three threads with Tim Tam in the title today. They are a tasty cookie, yes, and Tim Tam Slam is no doubt catchier than Oreo Dunk, but I don’t know that it’s three threads worth of tasty. I considered merging them as a joke, but realized nobody would think it was funny except me. Plus there would be 10 threads asking “Hey, where did the Tim Tam thread go?”
At least it’s not those dang Girl Scout cookies, which are not any better than various Keebler and Pepperidge Farm offerings. Anything that makes people type  annoys me. The word “foodgasm” annoys me. I suppose I’ll know how many people read my blog tomorrow by how many people try to engage me by posting  and “foodgasm”. I do not know on what universe it is fair that I go through all of this effort to write and entertain and I’m answered with the obvious jokes.
On the other hand, if tomorrow nobody does it, I won’t know if it’s because nobody reads my blog or if it’s because I’ve shamed them into not doing it. I’d like to think I have that kind of power over people, so I’ll chose to believe it’s the latter.
